In this tender comedy, three Jewish widows meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husbands’ graves. The women—sweet-tempered Ida; feisty, fun-loving Lucille; and priggish, judgmental Doris—are all friends with the local butcher, Sam, a widower. He and Ida develop feelings for one another which Doris and Lucille try to stop for fear that Ida will start a new chapter in her life that won’t include them. This forces them all to consider that maybe it’s time to move on with their lives.
